Michigan Research Libraries Triangle (MRLT) - Reciprocal Borrowing Privileges for Graduate Students
MRLT is a cooperative venture among the three largest Michigan University Libraries to develop mutually beneficial policies related to circulation, material preservation, and availability, etc.
- Graduate students at Wayne State University, Michigan State University, and the University of Michigan may borrow materials from any of the three universities by first inquiring at their home library.
- Eligibility: You must be a currently enrolled graduate student in good standing with your own library to receive a library card from one of the two other institutions. You need to present picture ID and evidence that you are currently enrolled as a graduate student.*
- Books must be returned by you directly to the institution from which they were borrowed.
- Books checked out to you are subject to recall if requested by another borrower.
- For U of M and Wayne State students, MSU-issued library cards will be good until the end of the calendar year. In order to renew, verification of enrollment must be present.
- Failure to follow the guest borrowing policies and procedures may result in termination of privileges.
Faculty from the three institutions continue to have reciprocal borrowing privileges under the established guidlines. Check with the Circulation staff at the appropriate institution for further information.
* Registration procedures for guest borrowing privileges at UM-Ann Arbor campus are only handled at the Harlan Hatcher Graduate Library, Circulation Services, 104 Hatcher North.
