Food & Drink in the Main Library

Library patrons are encouraged to consume food and beverages in the CyberCafe.  Patrons who bring their lunches are encouraged to eat them in the CyberCafe.  Food may not be ordered for delivery to the library.

Patrons are encouraged to use spill-resistant beverage containers in the Main Library.  No food or drink in any container is permitted in the Map Library, Fine Arts Library, Special Collections or the Copy Center.

Examples of preferred beverage containers:

Spills should be reported immediately to the nearest service desk so they can be cleaned up quickly to avoid permanent damage.

Library users may be asked to remove food or beverage containers if judged by library staff to pose an imminent threat to library furnishing, equipment, or material. If users refuse to cooperate, assistance will be requested from the MSU Department of Police and Public Safety.  (See MSU Library Disruptions Policy 3.4.8 and University Ordinance 15.02)
