Organizational records
Organizational records may come from businesses, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, or community groups.
They are the internal documents produced by an organization to guide its work or as a result of its work. They provide evidence on issues such as how the organization determined its goals, who had decision-making power, and how the organization evolved over time.
Examples of organizational records:
- minutes from the meetings of a company's Board of Directors
- a set of procedures for electing officers in a environmental protection group
- a memo to staff of a government agency, explaining how they are to enforce a particular regulation
